- Hellshire, the popular suburban beachsite, provides profound inspiration for Schliefer as a lover of the sea. The scattering of weather-beaten board shacks, the dug-out canoes, the subtle greens and blues of sea and sky shaping the landscape of the beach, he finds irresistible. 1985. - Poodle in Motion. Inspired by a famous painting of a trotting poodle, Schliefer’s version extends the motions involved in its progression. 1978, oil on canvas, 20×16. Collection SCS.
